Year in Review

I’m a wee bit early on starting to reflect on the past year but I can’t help it, it really has been an amazing year. I’ve traveled to many places, met new and interesting people, and had many great experiences, and I’ve learned a lot about myself and about those around me.

I got to go on road trips through Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, California, and Nevada with some of my oldest and closest friends. I went on close to home road trips and stayed in cabins with people I met just this year. I ran in 2 more Warrior Dashes, and saw tons of live music. I reconnected with some people from my past, and welcomed previous strangers or aquaintances into my close knit circle of friends.

Most of all, I had a freakin blast! The 2 things that really have been a big part of my life this year is dance nights at Silverstone and the Gruv with Jenny and friends, and Geeks who Drink trivia nights with my fellow library cohorts and whomever else I could convince to come along. I really do hope those activities and all the people I’ve experienced them with are here to stay in my life for many years to come.  Oh and by the way, i stopped doing this breakfast blog because i failed in that experiment, but it was fun while it lasted!  I think reeses pieces pancakes are a mainstay in my life for all time now!

Greatest vacation ever

Seriously, i could get used to this not working thing.  First there was Vegas road trip, then cabin at La Push on the beach, then cabin just south of Mt Rainier with a little hot tub time machine in the middle of the woods, today Zombcon.  Oh and lots of delectable foods fit in there somewhere, reeses pieces pancakes with Natalie and Renee the other night, then last night  fried chicken and bacon stuffed waffles last night with Tracie at Dirty Oscars...absolutely delicious waffles, this will be done again.

Sin City

I'll admit it, i have sinned.  I didn't completely stick to my guns on the breakfast diet while in Vegas.  My first night there.... i ate pizza.  I also did a buffett.  I'm ashamed... In my defense, we never got up out of the house till after at least 1 everyday, i did buy some fruit, cinnamon rolls, and blueberry muffins for the house and ate those at times, but well it was difficult to eat strictly breakfast when going out with Josh every day and night.  That man eats like a bird, just little nibbles here and there.  We did hit up a 50's style diner called the Omelette House, near his house one day for lunch and i enjoyed my avocado, tomato, and cheese omelette.  I also got a breakfast burrito from a local fast food joint at about 4 in the morning after one late evening, so not all my discipline was completely thrown out the window.

Now that i am back home i will be better..Off to La Push today but i'm gonna stockup some granola, fruits, and the making for bagel, breakfast sandwiches for the weekend stay in a cabin, and for treks out on the hiking trails int he rainforest...game on!

Vegas Baby!! Road Trip

Hitchin a ride and going to Vegas with Josh this weekend just for the heck of it.  I will request of him that we stop at many a diner along the way and hit up the most lavish breakfast buffets when we're in town. But before that, breakfast burritos at Frankys with all of the Bonzes.  Get in my belly!

Everyday I'm shufflin

Trivia last night, my team returned to prominence and took home the coveted first prize.  Janice was eating the Ram's Faberge burger and offered up half to yours truly, it had an egg, ham, and bacon on it, yet i still wondered if this should be considered my cheat of the week.  After much internal debate, i bit in, and my oh my was it delicious!  I may have to try this again, whether or not it can be considered breakfast food....ehhh, i don't know, but i do know it was scrumdidilyumptious.  Previous meals in the day included 2 breakfast sandwiches, some oatmeal, and a fruit smoothie (thanks for the new blender mom).

Top O the Mornin

Last night at trivia i ended up passing on eating any Irish faire, and instead focused solely on the trivia itself...oh and an irish coffee, which i'd say had more than it's fair share of Whiskey in it.  A good time was had by all as usual and although we did not claim the $250 dollar first place prize, i felt it was a good showing and the winning team truly deserved it.  Although i'm not sure those doctors really need the extra cash, oh well.  Came home foe some lat night hash browns and bacon, and a beer.  Today, a quick trip to Panera with Jenny before work netted me the absolutely delicious french toast bagel sandwich and a spinach/bacon souffle for later...yum  my!

Debateable

About to head off to trivia at Paddy Coynes tonight with a possibility of 250 bucks in our pub quizzin pockets...Trying to read up on what a traditional Irish breakfast is and if Shepherds Pie or Irish Coddle may qualify...Bangers (sausage), rashers( bacon), potatoes, in a casserole?  It sounds pretty darn close to me...we'll see.
